The Studio Light
There are scenarios when time flies so fast during a session that there will be many things to consider. Time management will always be key in following a tight schedule but, a backup plan is necessary. From a professional’s perspective of creating a successful session, project, or production, the photographer needs to be ready for a quick change and the model must have the flexibility to be ready as well. This can all be challenged by the experience of both parties. The circumstances can sound impossible or even unsure, but if everything falls into place, the outcome can be quite rewarding.
A photographer’s life can be stressful, not only because there can be time crunches or an awkward location, but meeting a new person can add to the pressure. The expectations to provide a phenomenal product to the client or model are real. We do not want to fail in their eyes… but who doesn’t want that?
One of the many models that I have worked with very closely has a lot of experience in being in front of the camera and is capable of creating a variety poses. Being able to be a part of this growth and progress is fascinating. Jessica and I have worked on many sessions and assignments. This particular session was almost a full day of shooting. There was quite some time to understand the atmosphere and environment in the location that we were shooting at. When the time was flying by… we had to start compromising fast. With that being said… we switched to the single studio light. When one can’t find a way to chase the light successfully, create it.
